Lars Vogt and RNYSO will perform Tarnopolsky, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky
In the year of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, RNYSO performs a unique program. This is an imaginary dialogue of one of the best renowned contemporary Russian composers Vladimir Tarnopolsky with a German genius, more precisely – with his Piano Concerto No. 4. The piece named “Be@thoven. Invokation” (“Challenge”) was commissioned by the Beethoven Festival in Bonn and was first performed in 2017.
The solo part in Concerto No. 4 will be performed by German pianist Lars Vogt, one of Beethoven’s most popular piano concert artists in the world, a participant of Beethoven’s “marathons”, a welcome guest of the best halls and major festivals in the world.
In the second part of the concert, the RNYSO will perform the Tchaikovsky Sixth Symphony for the first time. A meeting with this great score is an important stage in the life of a young orchestra. The musicians will comprehend the secrets of this tragic and mysterious composition under the guidance of a prominent representative of modern conductors, laureate of the Presidential Award for young cultural figures Valentin Uryupin.
We are waiting for you at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall on February 25, 2020.
