Autumn tour

The 2023/24 concert season of RNYSO starts with tours. For the fourth time, the Youth Orchestra will become a resident of the Stars on Baikal festival in Irkutsk, where it will present four programs. On September 7, the artistic director of the festival Denis Matsuev, conductor Alexander Sladkovsky, as well as young stars Albina Tonkikh, Alexander Ramm and Pavel Milyukov will take the stage along with the RNYSO.

The program on September 9 is dedicated to Sergei Rachmaninov and his time; under the direction of Dmitry Yurovsky, the symphonic poem "Cliff" and the opera "Aleko" by Rachmaninov, as well as "Prometheus" by Scriabin will be performed. On September 13 and 14, the final concerts of the festival will be held, laureates of the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition Sofia Viland, Ilya Papoyan, Valentin Malinin, Elena Tarosyan, Zinaida Tsarenko, Kim Gyehee, George Harliono, Semyon Salomatnikov, as well as young pianist Lev Bakirov, a scholarship holder of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation.

On September 11, the Youth Orchestra will perform on the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater in Vladivostok as part of the 8th Eastern Economic Forum. Under the baton of Dmitry Yurovsky, Symphonic Dances from Leonard Bernstein's musical "West Side Story", Suite No. 1 for variety orchestra by Dmitry Shostakovich and Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini for piano and orchestra by Sergei Rachmaninov will be performed; soloist — Denis Matsuev. The concert will be held with the support of Russian Railways.
