Alexander Lazarev and RNYSO will present works by Mozart and Richard Strauss

The new subscription of the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra features brilliant performers — conductors Dmitry Sinkovsky and Philipp Chizhevsky, pianist Konstantin Emelyanov, violinist Vadim Repin, and the Borodin Quartet. The first concert of the cycle on October 21 in the Tchaikovsky Hall is presented by Alexander Lazarev, a master of the Russian conducting school. 

Alexander Lazarev’s collaboration with the RNYSO began in 2019, and since then the orchestra has established a very special connection with the conductor along with fruitful cooperation. Under the direction of the maestro, the orchestra performed the music of Brahms and Respighi, Prokofiev and Shostakovich, Khachaturian and Terterian, celebrated Rachmaninov’s anniversary, and now for the first time will perform Richard Strauss’s “Symphonia Domestica” and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor with Konstantin Emelyanov as a soloist.

 The concert is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Elena Gnessina.
