Concert with Vasily Petrenko
On December 28, for the first time, Vasily Petrenko, one of the most successful representatives of the middle generation of Russian conductors, will stand before the RNYSO. Principal Conductor of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra, Principal Guest Conductor of the Svetlanov Orchestra of Russia, in the coming year he will lead the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London. A brilliant interpreter of Tchaikovsky's music, recognized throughout the world, on the New Year's Eve he, together with the youngest orchestra of our country, will perform the main New Year's score — the Nutcracker ballet.
Vasily Petrenko's performance in Russia of a major work by Tchaikovsky is a long-awaited event. His recording of all the symphonies of the Russian classic with the Liverpool Orchestra became a sensation and earned the Russian-British maestro a reputation as one of the best performers of Tchaikovsky.
