First Concert in February

The performance of Denis Matsuev with the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Conservatory throws a symbolic arch towards the beginning of the season: it was these musicians who had the opportunity to open the cycle "The Return of Live Sound", which marked the resumption of concert life after quarantine. And again, as in that landmark August concert, Tchaikovsky's dramatic fantasy overture “Romeo and Juliet” will sound, and his First Piano Concerto will replace Rachmaninoff's Third Concerto performed at that time (on video). Maestro Julian Rachlin was invited to conduct, who has already appeared on the same stage with the RNMSO and noted the ability of the artists of this orchestra to create fresh, non-routine interpretations of even the most played scores.
