"Day of Slavic Alphabet and Culture"

On May 24, the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra will take part in a concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Alphabet and Culture. The program includes music by Russian composers of different eras and styles: from symphonic and vocal compositions by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Glinka, Borodin, Stravinsky and Prokofiev to songs by Pakhmutova and Soloviev-Sedoy. Valery Gergiev will conduct the concert, and the soloists are Denis Matsuev and Elisey Mysin (piano), Khibla Gerzmava (soprano), Vasily Ladyuk (baritone), Dmitry Korchak (tenor), Vasilisa Berzhanskaya and Polina Shamaeva (mezzo-soprano). The choral pieces will be performed by the Consolidated Choir, which will include musicians from the country's leading collectives — the Grand Choir “Masters of Choral Singing”, the Moscow Synodal Choir and many others. The concert will take place at the Bolshoi Theater.
